Ground :
The tuffeau of the hillside: The tuffeau is a limestone rock. Sometimes covered with flint clay or wind sand. This tufa vein originates in the west of the commune and widens towards the east. The vine adapts and develops a deep root system through the limestone. The tufa was extracted by our ancestors, for the construction of houses and villages. These tufa quarries have become the cellars where our wines are aged, in which we sometimes observe the roots of the vine at the surface of the walls.
Wine profile :
Wine with a deeper, darker colour, ruby reflections; aromatic, generous with black fruit aromas. Complex, robust, fleshy, rounded tannins, powerful body, good intensity with persistence.

Ground :
The sands and gravels of the plateau: They are composed of marine deposits dating back to the Quaternary period. There are many fossils (sponges and sea urchins). The soil is very draining, where only the vine finds its balance. This is the “Cradle of the appellation”, it is here that the vegetation gives the “top start” from spring.
Wine profile :
A wine of pleasure and celebration, the supple and harmonious palate delivers aromas of raspberry and wild strawberry, supported by subtle and refined tannins.
Silty gravel(Nicknamed la Taille) Approximately 100 ha
