In 2000 Laurent and Géraldine moved into the family house on the 23-hectare Domaine du Fondis estate. Surrounding the house, in the commune of Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil, they have 12 hectares of Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil appellation vines. In 1999 they began to expand and now have 11 hectares of vines in the commune of Turquant, on the right bank of the Loire, to produce Saumur Champigny, Saumur rosé, Saumur Blanc and Crémant de Loire.
To guarantee the quality required for their AOC (controlled designation of origin) status, the grapes are vinified in their respective appellation areas before being brought together for maturation in Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil. The wines are bottled and labelled in the winery.
We offer visits to our 1890 vaulted cellar, which has been converted to accommodate groups for tastings of our white, rosé, red and Crémant wines. It can also be visited on our Open Day in May.
