Nathalie and David Drussé established the estate in Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil in 1996, close to the family business, with the objective of finding new methods to cultivate their vines: no weedkillers or chemical pesticides, mechanical tilling, limited yields with strict berry selection, careful use of sulphites, etc. Today they boast five medal-winning cuvées, ranging from a fresh and fruity rosé to an intense, aromatic late-harvest red. And they also produce sulphite-free grape juice!
The estate is open daily so Nathalie and David can share their passion for winemaking. Their comfortable tasting room has “Bienvenue à la Ferme” (farm tourism) and “Tourisme et Handicaps” (accessible tourism) certification and a direct view of the operating winery. They hold regular open days during which visitors are offered a tour of their atmospheric 10th-century troglodytic cellar where they can enjoy a sense-stimulating tasting of an old vintage wine 20 metres underground. Nathalie and David prefer to sell direct to the customer and are developing a wine tourism business for families, wine enthusiasts and aficionados.
